Tara O’Rourke

Tara O’Rourke teaches Hatha yoga which often starts with gentle opening stretches, focused asana and gradually building to stronger practice in an explorative way.

Tara has worked with people of all levels and abilities including students with knee/hip replacements, back problems as well as fit and able people of all ages.

She is experienced at adapting the practice to suit each individual, and encourages each person to listen inwardly and to practice to the level that feels right for you.

She will support and encourage you to explore, be curious and to never work into pain.  It is ok to challenge ourselves but we should always respect our own bodies and our own limitations.

Tara has been practicing yoga for over 23 years, and has practiced many forms of yoga including hatha, restorative, ashtanga, vinyasa flow.

She believes that each of us can use yoga and meditation to get in touch with ourselves, to listen deeply inwards and to learn how to accept who we are and to get in touch with our true inner meaning and purpose in life.

Tara was initially drawn to the strong practice of ashtanga yoga, and over the years she has adapted her practice to include more restorative and relaxing practice, as well as maintaining quite a strong hatha yoga practice.

She completed her first teacher training course with Ciara Cronin in The Yoga Room in Dublin in 2015, and went on to complete her 500 hour teacher training in 2018.

Over the years Tara has also completed various meditation courses with the Dublin Buddhist Centre as well as a Chakra Course with Swami Nishchalananda.  She keep up her yogic studies and is being mentored by Michael McCann and to attend regular yoga workshops.

She also qualified as an advanced life/business coach with neuroscience and integrates in some of this teaching on an energetic level.

Tara’s goal is to help people live their own truth with purpose and meaning and uses yoga and self awareness practices to help each person to follow their own path.

You can expect a warm welcome when you meet Tara as she creates a space that is conducive to feeling safe and encourages receptiveness, curiosity and the transition simply ‘to Be’.

Tara – “My life’s purpose is to help individuals experience the benefits of yoga and meditation and to enable them to use these practices to navigate life’s challenges.  Using these practices to encourage growth and moving away from being stuck.”

She feels it is key for teachers to provide practices that focus on recovery, rest, and contemplation to help people to cope with the pressures and stresses of modern living.”

As a teacher and practitioner, she is passionate about providing tools and practices that bring about transformative change. She offers a way to boost both mental and physical health and provides space where her clients can access their own wisdom, intelligence and healing.
