Maggie Dunne
Maggie Dunne has been practicing yoga for over 30 years.
When she took up yoga she loved the feeling of relaxation and it allowed her to slow down. Through yoga, she learned about the mind, the thoughts and how to ground oneself.
Over the years Maggie has practiced many different types of yoga including Hatha, Iyengar, Kundalini and Restorative yoga.
Nowadays she mainly teaches Hatha yoga and also Restorative yoga.
Maggie attended a meditation retreat in Australia in 2004 and took up a daily practice of meditation the following year.
After about 10 years of practicing yoga Maggie completed her first year long Yoga Teacher Training in Australia. And followed with a second year was practice hours teaching classes.
Over the years she also completed a Kundalini yoga teacher training and completed a diploma in Mindfulness based stress reduction in 2018.
Maggie has also completed a Chinese Medicine and Medical Acupuncture training over 3 years.
She has attended many retreats and ashrams over the years including Buddhist retreats.
Maggie has been teaching yoga classes, and leading many yoga retreats over the years. Yoga and meditation is a huge part of her life.
She enjoys using the awareness of the breath to anchor herself to the present moment and to the body and the clarity this gives to ones thoughts and emotions.
Her classes are based upon her experience of all the forms of yoga over the years.
The classes usually begin with a breath awareness and tuning inwards. During the class there is a focus of awareness of the body in the poses and she uses her Iyengar experience to make adjustments to improve the alignment of the body.
Maggie has a lot of experience of breath work over the years, and in some classes includes pranayama which can have powerful effects on the nervous system.
She describes the practices very clearly and her classes are slow and steady and very relaxing and suitable for all levels.
Maggie welcomes you no matter what age or level you are at.
