Kate Cuddy
Kate Cuddy has been practicing yoga since 2004 and has a lovely welcoming vibe and an enjoyable light-hearted approach to her classes.

When Kate first began practicing, it was the breathing practices and awareness of breath that blew her mind. This inspired her to bring yoga into her daily life and has led her on a path that has become a life-changing experience.
What really impressed Kate was how doing various breathing practices and using awareness of the breath could bring such a deep sense of calm.
Combining breath awareness with yoga movements coordinated with the breath brought her a deep sense of exhilaration and inner peace.

Kate uses the breath a lot during her teaching, and likes to keep a lovely light-hearted approach to her classes, as she believes that yoga should be a joy and not a penance.
Her warmth and friendliness will have you feeling very welcome, comfortable, and at home right away.
“The breath focus is the beautiful golden thread that binds our pranayama, asana and mediation practices. It what turns the physical practice into a moving meditation rather than just a fitness class.”
Kate does believe in the importance of alignment… but one thing that is even more important is that we all have different body types and she does not believe that one shape suits all bodies.
Instead, she invites her students to consciously feel their way into postures and to adapt the proposed postures to suit best their bodies and abilities.

Kate teaches a variety of different types of yoga to suit all ages and all abilities.
Kate teaches Hatha flow, Vinyasa yoga, Yin and Restorative yoga, Yoga Nidra deep relaxation, and Breath focussed meditation.
Kate believes that yoga is for everybody no matter what age.
Young and old, flexible and inflexible, fit and unfit, male and female.
In 2012 Kate completed her first yoga teacher training course which included the full 8 limbs of yoga including asana, pranayama, meditation and philosophy.
In 2014 she completed further training in Teaching yoga to Teenagers and in 2015 Teaching Yoga to Children.
In 2016 she undertook further training with Josh Summers Teaching Yin Yoga.
In 2020 she did Yoga for stages of Menopause training with Niamh Daly, and Mother and Baby yoga in 2023.
“I love to explore all forms of yoga and get creative with my classes, fusing what I’ve learned over the years from numerous teachers with my own style and mixing it into my classes in a fun, energetic, nourishing and nurturing way.”
Over the years Kate has practiced many forms of yoga from many traditions including Hatha yoga, Ashtanga vinyasa yoga, Yin and Restorative yoga, Satyananda yoga, and many more.
She draws on all her experience to choose enjoyable practices suitable for whoever is in her class, and her enthusiasm and warmth are infectious 😉
Over the years Kate has practiced various forms of meditation including Antar Mouna (Inner Silence) breath-focused meditation, Buddhist meditation, and Mantra meditation.
On her retreats at the Burren Yoga Retreat, she will introduce you to breath-focused meditation. She will show you various ways of sitting and using the meditation cushion, blocks, and other supports to help you find a comfortable sitting posture.
Kate will guide you to allow your awareness to rest lightly on the breath not trying to block out thoughts, but equally well gently guiding the mind away from getting caught up in trains of thought… and instead… to gently guide one’s awareness back to the breath.
Kate sends you a very warm invitation to join her on her retreat and to experience the joy and inner calm brought about by practicing yoga.
No matter how fit or unfit you are, you will enjoy Kate’s approach which will give more gentle accessible practices for complete beginners, and more challenging practices for regular practitioners.
